any one know where a spot to fish at the dam at wood where you wont get hung up???

thinking of doing a overnighter at the wood and wondering if anyone knew of a spot at the dam that is good and where i wont lose 50 bucks in tackle also???? any info would be awesome. thanks !

Last time I was there ( 4 weeks ago ), I saw 2 dudes with 3 Stripers. They were at the very start of the dam between the boulders and dirt trail. Good luck!

thanks man. we were there like 2 months ago and were getting hung up like crazy, there were a few spots to cast to that were good but most the time we were getting hung up it may be better now if the water level went down.

what is the high low rig? is that with weight on the bottom hook up a foot or two??? like a dropper loop?

Yeah the high low is like a reverse dropper tied with the weight on the bottom and the hook(s) above the weight. I would also recommend using a slip float (AKA casta bubble)with a swivel setup(Carolina) or bobber stop. Another option is just to flyline cut sardine or whole anchovies. Both the fly line and slip bobber work well for bait and wait stripers. I think it should work well for cats as well.
