This is really not a report but just a post of saying the stripers are on the chew . Last sat. I was catfishing DVL and ran into a good friend who filled me into some GOOD info on the striper bite NOW . The next day sun. I went out and caught a few but had a lot of bites that wouldnt stick . [ had 1 bend my hook straight ] I went back this sat. 8/6 after learning from my mistakes and limited out on stripers , just small ones biggest being only 6 lbs. . I have freinds catching sripers all over the lk. now , east side and the west end . There being caught by bait and wait , trolling and even on a spoon fished deep now . MY ADVICE TO ANYBODY who wants to speed up there learning curve on the DVL striper bite is to HIRE A GUIDE thats current on the lk. NOW . I met another local DVL giude on sat. and he told me a few things that only someone fishing that lk. on a regular basis knows . I ran into BIGDADDY a LK. Irvine regular on sat. [ as nice as a guy as trolly and pontoon for sure ] , his group of three did really well with 3 limits [ 30 fish]of stripers . It seems to be an early bite then it dies until the afternoon and winds pickup and its on again . Go to Last Chance Bait and Tackle and talk to the guys working there , THEY KNOW WHO , WHAT AND WHERE about the stripers at DVL . GOOD LUCK GUYS // db http://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/IMG_1224.jpghttp://i599.photobucket.com/albums/tt74/db_bucket_photos/IMG_1225.jpg

Nice size fish Bob , your one of the guides that really understand the stripers . The bigger ones usually won't compete with the smaller ones up top so there just lazin around down deep waiting for there share . The fish are at around 40-50 ft. , you'll see them on your sonar . That was a trip that team troolt. caught those stripers in the spring . // db
