Fished the twilight out of Redondo on Friday night with my fiancé, my aunt and two of my buddies. The boat left the dock just after 6:00 with just 11 people heading out in a nice breeze and just a little chop but it was an all around nice evening on the water. The first stop would be the squid grounds just in front of Hermosa. A nice short ride. I rigged up the dropper loops with a 3oz. torpedo on the bottom and a 2/o bait hook in the loop. We fished whole fresh dead squid all night pretty much with a few catching sand dabs on cut bait. We picked away slowly at the cuda' at this spot and stayed all night. The bite was pretty slow but steady with a few flurries here and there. At around ten or so the captain turned off the lights and set out the squid lights and got a pretty good float as we fished in the semi dark. This was great because as soon as we started to fish the live squid we had a fairly steady bite till 11:00 when we called it a night. Every one in our group caught at least 1 fish if not a few. The total for the boat was 50 something. The new del mar fished off our bow most of the night and Gary and the highliner were out making bait while we fished. I understand that they put a good hurt on the fish on Saturdays twilight on the Tradition. So go get em guys. First time on the Tradition great crew and nice boat will definitly fish it again. Cut out the blood line at home and had a great fish fry on saturday night and enjoyed ufc and a few jack and cokes!

Hi SoCalfab,

Nice goin' !! Yea baby ... the twilights are the ONLY way to go unless you want to experience day counts with like 2 Bass on the boat or counts with half the number of fish caught as anglers !! ha ha ha Tough or what !!

Ron you are right this time of year it can get pretty crowded during the day. I realy enjoy the Twilights and the light loads that you normaly find. Makes for a much more enjoyable trip when you have some elbow room and is great when you have less experianced people in your group.

Hi SoCalfab,

Well .... actually .... I was talking about the counts I've seen in the last week both north and south of Rocky Point where there would be like 30 anglers and little more than 15 fish caught !! Or maybe 2 or 3 Bass caught with maybe only 2 Rockfish per angler caught .....

You're gonna laugh but I'd trade these last 3 weeks lite loads for heavier loads and decent Bassin' !!

Good catchin' on your next trip !!
