Didnt want to deal with boat traffic today so went back to my roots and tubed Perris.

I forgot how nice it is to be in the water, there really is no better way to feel the fish, and work a spot. No boat means focusing on just one location so less fish today.

The ticket was black and red today, on a 1/16th jig head. I vist bass pro about every other day and have tried just about all the crappie plastics there, gotta say the top two are the yellow white tubes and lake fork trophy lures.

Bass guys doing good on smaller bass dropping worms.

@Troutcz swimbait

Whenever I use tube jigs I'll tip them with a crappie niblet, it keeps the jig in the mouth just a little bit longer to set the hook. But if a small plastic I wont.

Way to go! A 16 inch crappie is about 2 1/2 lbs! The Perris crappie are just so nice. Actually all the panfish there are nice.

They were caught at bernasconi side. Theres a bite there from 6- I'd say 830am. and then again right before sunset. If you plan on fishing there in between your best bet is trolling. This lake has crappie suspended all over, presentation makes a huge difference.

I've been tubing the other side of the lake but plan on going out of Bernarsconi this Saturday. I've had great luck trolling a super duper and will see if it works on this side. Still trying to decide whether I will work the dam or the SW bank area towards the tire reef.
