Big Bear Lake 7/31

From what I saw on the weather report it was 30% chance of rain with mostly sunshine......Cloudy and raining most of the day...... Had to put on the $1 dollar emergency poncho. lol .....better than nada........Fishing for crappie.....tried 4 spots only one produced, off a rocky point....First bite...hook up ...thought I had a nice sized crappie.. a real fighter!......ultra lite pole bending...drag sounding off....to my surprise.....my first small mouth bass....total of 4 small mouth caught and released.
Most all fish caught before 10am, stayed till 6pm...ended the day keeping 7 crappie 8-10in.....nothing big just enough for some small filets... released 7 smaller ones......

Nice crappie-fest! Weird that some of their traditional spots have moved this year - not sure if it's because of the higher water or something else. Work those weeds, baby!!
