Quail lake

thinkin of goin to quail lake this weekend. a group of us might b goin. hoping to run into sum striper this time. will post later on in the week if were goin. any1 else been there recently?

well we went to quail lake saturday afternoon. fished till 2:30 am sunday. we ended up catching 8 cats. funny thing happened though. the basket that our friend took wus kinda jacked up. the floating top wouldnt close the right way and with the water currents picking up it wus just thrashing the basket on the edge of the water. so anyway we had 6 cats in the basket. we were all kinda falling asleep and my dad heard his bobber hit his rod. ro wen he looked up he saw his rod bendin. so he grabbed the rod and fought the fish for a few minutes. he finally landed the fish and it wus a nice 5lb cat. so back to the funny part, we went to go put the cat in the basket and wen our friend grabbed it there were only 2 cats in the basket. we just started laughing. and the 2 that were left were the smallest ones. there were to othere good sized ones that got away. they were both in the 4lb range. so our friend wus so upset about the basket that he took his rope off the basket and put the fish on it. and that wuz it for the night. we left around 2:30am. i also released 1 small cat earlier in the night which made it 8 total count. ill post sum pictures 2morow

Any time u go to quail lake make sure u go at night and stay late...Always have worms, chicken liver and mackarel on u...Nothing else...

ya weve stayed late but but they stop biting after 2am. for bait we took nightcrawlers, mealworms, anchovies, mackarel, shrimp and chicken livers. the only thing that worked wuz anchovies, shrimp, mackarel, and chicken liver. the rest didnt produce
