South Lake TROUTRAGEOUS!!! 7/25-7/27

I think Its been 2 years since I've last posted on here, but I've just got to share this info. Ryan and I have been working up at South Lake for the past 3 years and we have never experienced anything like this.

Dan, Joe, Ryan, and I headed up to South Lake out of Bishop for some trout slayage. I got a facebook message from Jared telling me that the toads are out, so we simply could not resist.

7/25
We got up to Bishop at 1:30 and we were making our first casts around 2:30. 2nd or 3rd cast ryan hooks up, shortly followed by Joe. From then on the fishing went WFO. We had a small wager goin on between boats: Biggest Fish and Most Fish. Joe and I took Most Fish honors with a combined total of 47. Ryan and Dan took biggest fish with a solid 5 pounder! Done fishing by 2:30

Dan and I had a hangover to shake, so we took our time getting to the lake. Got on about 10:45 and as we were headed out we ran into Ryan and Joe, who started around 8, already had 40+ fish! So Dan and I started getting to work. All I can say is WFO. We hit the dam and it was pretty much every cast. Ended at around 6 with 100+ fish easy

Got on the lake right at 7, and the fishing was not what it was the first two days. It was a little slow, we saw the fish, but we had a hard time getting them to bite. I forgot to mention we managed to bag a 9, a 6, and two 3's. pounds that is.. WE HAD 21 POUNDS OF TROUT and THAT WASNT EVEN OUR LIMIT! Congrats to Ryan for getting his new PB trout at 9 lbs!! We were hootin and hollerin when he got that bad boy in the boat.

So when Jared told me the lunkers were out to play he meant LUNKERS.

Overall the fishing is RED HOT at South Lake right now!! So get up there and get in on the action while the bigguns are willing to play! and I'm sure some toads have been pulled out since. 80% of fish caught on Minijigs+ 2 lb test

Unfrigginbelievable guys, you absolutley killed it!! I've met you both guys, two really nice guys, and Ryan was a big help gettin me on some early season fish last year, couldn't be happier to see you guys gettin some hawgs!! Congrats!!! Thanks for sharing. I'll be up in late sept, hopefully they will still be stocking some big-uns then.
