Hey guys and gals,

Got a call from Chris Marso, Southern California Sales Rep for Pure Fishing, stating he wanted to get out on the water and try some of the new gear which included the Nano Fil line from Berkley. Chris was just returning from back east to get married so I figured he needed a day on the water.

The new Nano Fil was amazing on the set up Chris let me use for the day. I got to fish with a Vertias rod paired with a Abu Garcia Revo Premiere 10 spinning reel. Stuff melted off the reel like butter on the casts and fished vey nice. This stuff is defintley the next evolution in fishing line. I was fishing with 12lb Nano fil and it felt like 1lb stuff is unreal!

What really sold me is later in the day I hooked onto a good fish on the Nano fil and a Berkley Sink Worm. And the proof is in the picture.

A 7.8 Largemouth Bass! Fish fought really good and was released after the photo. So cool to hook it on gear that is just coming out.
A little while later I got this 5.0 on the same combo.

Chris with two good Irvine Lake Largemouth. Both of his fish came on a crankbait fished on the Nano Fil. He was running a small leader of 100% Florocarboun to help with stretch.

Here are the two I got. A 7.8 and 5.0 even.

A really good night on the water. We got about 20 fish on everything from Crankbaits, worms, jigs and a couple of topwater fish throwen in.

Hope to see you guys out here soon. The bite is on fire.

Jimmy

What lb test line would you recomend for trout fishing? Would you be able to step up in line rating for mini jigging fishing? Is the Nanofil line smaller?

Nice fish. A bass fisherman with talent is a neat thing to watch.
"Nano Fil" hints at braid but it looks white on the spool. Is that new line mono, or is it small-diameter braid?

Here is what the Pure Fishing website has to say on it.
Not a Mono. Not a Braid. The Next Generation of Fishing line. NanoFil is made out of gel-spun polyethylene, much like a superline. This ultimate spinning reel fishing line consists of hundreds of Dyneema® nanofilaments that are molecularly linked and shaped into a unified filament fishing line. Dyneema, The World’s Strongest Fiber™, gives this line superline type strength and our uni-filament process makes it feel and handle like a smooth monofilament

Fish Taco i would not bump up a line size at all. I would stick to the 2lb or 3lb which will be available in the 150yd spools.

Jimmy,
Those bass caught plus your season tips on night bassing are really nice. Keep up the good work and continue to add your thoughts so the rest of us can come up with some toads like these shown - Sweet!!
