.....new to the board and to surf fishing. Been reading reports and advise postings gaining some "surf" knowledge, thanks to everyone here and to Pontoon, Wingnut and Dana for their "how to" posts, they set the standard for all others to follow.
Only been a couple of months of fishing but I have been hittin it every chance I get and living a 1/2 mile away from a noted spot I have been getting into some fish.
Last weekend for example I started right out front at my home beach at sunrise, incoming tide about 3'. Not sure of water temp but seemed warmer then the air temp, worked that beach until about 12ish (lifeguard said i had to go now) and got skunked.
Tried the Santa Ana river outlet the next morning, very cool, fun place to fish but parking is tough...same result, skunk!
Decided that since I had Mon off I would try further south hopefully less populated, Aliso Creek State Beach.
6AM, had the place to myself....incoming tide and 2'-3' shore pound surf but casting just over it was not to tough. Found some structure and worked it there.....first few casts got me my first shorty using a LC.....was a blast getting him to shore. With in the next 60 min got another shorty, and two Ribbed Perch. Shortly after the water went from clear to cloudy and the fish quit biting. Worked the beach until 10ish and called it. Took a drive to do some more scouting....all in all was a great day and thanks to FNN and all the fine folks I'm havin a blast with this.......good times......

Peace out, thanks for sharing and tight lines........

Hey NT (We'll go with the abbreviation for this screen name) Glad to see you finally made that first report!

I've got a feeling that living as close as you do to the beach you'll be posting some good reports in the near future.
So you better get that new rod and reel broke in and wear the paint off some more of those Lucky Crafts!

I'll see ya at the B.C. real soon and welcome to the board!:Thumbs Up:

Looks like you found them!
Be diligent tossing the LC and you will be rewarded. Where there are shorties.....There are legals for sure. I'm planning a southern attack soon to help a few guys out who have been searching for legals down there. If I find a productive and reliable spot I will give you a heads up but the spot you are fishing should be good to you as long as you try different times and tides.
Welcome to the FNN as a poster and we are all looking forward to your successful outings.

Tight lines to Ya always----------Mike
