PCH Kayak Sessions

Kayaked a couple spots along PCH, North of Malibu the past few weekends.

7/10/11 - First kayak session I went out with my buddy to fish some kelp beds slinging Big Hammers between and around the stringers and we caught some nice Calico, Sand and assorted rock bass. We made bait and trolled for halibut but no love.

7/16/11 – Made my first surf session around 10:00 AM just South of Leo Carrillo with my Son in tow and landed a nice Gray Smooth Hound shark while my eight year old played in the water near by. He and I were both excited to beat the skunk. There was lots of salad in the sandy areas and too many rocks bouncing off the ankles where the water was salad free.

7/23/11 - Second kayak session we paddled deeper to about ½ mile out with some dead candy looking for WSB. We caught some calico, sandies, plenty of short ling and assorted rock fish but no WSB. I was throwing a big hammer and bouncing off structure and CPR’d this nice calico. Later we paddled back into some kelp beds and made bait and trolled for halibut but still no love.

That stringer included my buddies catch, but yes we ate all those. Can you say fish taco?

That first calico is very nice!

did you enjoy those fish tacso?i know i sure would...never mind these bass nazi's..they always got some smart a@# remark for people being LEGAL with bass..wtg on all those tacos
