Got the invite from the Commander for one last run in the surf before he goes on lockdown and will only be able to fish once a month, if that.

Got to the spot at 0500 and was surprised to see only Justin in the parking lot. Where's the Commander?? He rolls up a few minutes later with Mike (Bones) and we find out they made a McDonalds detour. Robert (Murrieta Angler) showed up a few minutes later, we met Sid (Sidified) for the first time, and John (Klocked) joined us on the sand. :Big Grin:

The old-timers lagging behind.

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/Wingnut32566/Wingnut%208/Wingnut%209/010-21.jpg

I was next to hook up in the grey light. We found out shortly that Robert was hooked up at the SAME time about 30 yards away! :Big Grin:

Then I hook into this YFC.
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a259/xotessox8/swat%20072311/DSC00753.jpg

A little while later, Wingnut and I are fishing side-by-side when he points to a trough directly in front of us and says, "This spot looks SO fishy, there's GOTTA be a fish in there." Two seconds later, the PINK Terror LC strikes again!

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/Wingnut32566/Wingnut%208/Wingnut%209/012-21.jpg

This time it's a LEGAL! 22 1/4! :Dancing Banana: </=== this was me, literally!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/Wingnut32566/Wingnut%208/Wingnut%209/013-17.jpg

Side story: on our last surf outing, Wingnut gave me this pink LC as part of my "Welcome to S.W.A.T." package. He said my mission was to catch a Legal Hali on it. As this was my first time back on the sand since then, I knew I had to tie on that pink LC. I wasn't too sure how it would do, but I had faith. As it turns out, I accomplished my mission! :Big Smile:

How do ya like them apples Jason?!? :Idiot:

There were a few other fish caught. Robert got a YFC and a juvenile White Sea Bass, and I think there were some perch caught as well. They will put up pics with their comments. :Big Grin:

Robert in No Man's Land... again!
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r135/Wingnut32566/Wingnut%208/Wingnut%209/022-10.jpg

Boys, it was great seeing and outfishing you all once again. But seriously, I love hitting the sand with you all... always good laughs and great times.

Sid, it was a pleasure meeting and chatting with you today. That was a huge shovelnose you hooked into! I haven't caught one that big, nice job. Hope to fish with you again soon. :Big Grin:

Mike, John, and Justin, it had been a while! Nice seeing you guys again... can't wait til our next surf outing. Mike, you crack me up every time. :Envious: We gotta fish together more often!

Robert, way to slay! Short hali, YFC, WSB and perch... nice mixed bag you had going today. I hope you and John did well on your on continued mission this afternoon.

Arthur, thanks again for the invite... we had a great time as always. Although I think I had a better time than Jason. Mission accomplished for both of us as I got a legal on the Pink Terror and you got your first ever Corbina on the LC! Congratz! :Thumbs Up: It was a nice parting gift from Poseidon before going on lockdown. Good luck with everything and hope to fish with you again soon. :Big Grin:

A day making surf fishing memories with friends = PRICELESS.

To my S.W.A.T. Family...
Thank you for your friendship & support.

S.W.A.T. has never been about individuals. We are not like a blanket, one piece of unbroken cloth. We are more like a quilt, many pieces, colors and sizes... all woven together by a common thread.

Remember... None of us, is as strong as all of us.

Nothing will change except for how often that I get to fish. There will be no shortage of S.W.A.T. reports on the board. I know all of you will see to that. :Big Grin: I promise that I will make an effort to get out there with you guys at least once a month, and I never make promises that I can't keep. "The only distance between friends, are the length of their arms.

He who conquers others is strong; he who conquers himself is mighty.

Tess, the cold, hard fact is that you outfished SEVEN guys today. :Envious:
And I didn't even have to touch your rod...
Great job on completing the "Pink Power" mission. :Big Grin:

Jason, I feel for you brother... We fished hard today didn't we...?
Sometimes, the fish just don't want to cooperate.
One thing that I'm sure of, that you will no doubt bounce back in a very big way.

Justin, thanks for joining us bro. It was cool sharing the sand with you as always.
Just for the record, and we won't discuss it here on the board. I saw that fish jump clear out of the water too... could definitely be what you thought that it was.

John, you have got to be one of the most easy going guy that I know... nothing bothers you bro. Bad conditions, gear issues, not even the dreaded Skunk bothers you.
You are indeed the Gentle Giant of S.W.A.T.

Robert, nobody fish harder than YOU, not even me. :Envious:
The "extra" effort always seems to pay off for you.
Don't ever change bro! :Big Grin:

Sid, "The Man of the World" You bring culture to our S.W.A.T. family my friend. :Big Grin:
We share the same faith, philosophy and outlook towards life.
Looking forward to fishing with you again...

Mike, S.W.A.T. Second in Command, keep the faith my friend. I leave it up to you to rally the troops, gather intel and plan our "once" a month assault. See ya next month! :Big Grin:

I was throwing this custom prototype LC FM110 all morning with no love.
Switched up to a custom MJ Herring and BAM! My first Corbina on the LC. :Rolls Eyes:  :Envious:

And the gangs all here!!!!!! Well, most of you anyways. Seems pink is the new hot color as of late, I think Arthur kept his hidden so as to save it for another day, he didn't buy enough of em lol. I started a large project this last week, and found myself recouperating most of today. Might have to put out the pink hoochie tomorrow, and see what happens. Tess, you are definitely a trooper, if you can hang with this group, kudos to your great day, and looking forward to sharing the beach with you all again. Mikey ps it worked good Tess, see have2fish's post

Tesserz,

Looks like I missed another fun day out on the southern waters with the gang. Thanks for posting "Part 1" of todays mission as I am sure "The Boys" will add on later! Someday our schedules will align to hit the wavy waters together again!

I am sure there were many more great moments captured by the others!

I am hanging on in New Jersery reading this great report. Wish I was there but still having fun with wifes familey.
Heading back home this afternoon without an eastcoast report other than its Hot and Humid as H*LL:mad:

Somebody tell Tezz its not a contest. I only say that because I don't want her to kick my butt like she did to you guys yesterday :LOL::ROFL::Big Smile:

Good job T. I love that shot of Robert draining his waders, now thats priceless..
When I get home I' ll try to hook up with Roy or Mikey and check out the local water then shoot PMs out on conditions.

Congrats to everyone on a great day with each other.

So now everyone gets the short version.
I had a good time with everyone yesterday and look forward to to fishing with all of you again.
John and I went to hit up H.B. but there was so much traffic that the parking lots were closed. John went home but I ended up staying and caught a few more flatties to end the day.

After pulling a 17 hour day there was no way I was going to be able to make it!!!

Hey DR,
Trust me when I tell you that I am tan, from head to toe, from being out in the water in just my shorts and sandals.
It was just a little cool yesterday, when I went outside in the morning and I need to have something to carry all my stuff.

It was great to finally meet and shake hands with so many SWATmates all at once. You are all great folks to share the day with (any friend of Arthur's, etc.) and I look forward to doing it again, and again.
Tess you are one terrific fisher and sassy poster as well. I love that you stick it to all the roosters when you outfish us all...Just don't forget who's up on the leader board, girlfriend!
I did manage a PB in rendering both my Calcutta and Curado perfectly useless...the Curado with a ''professional overrun'' that I'll have to cut out...and, cramming half the beach into my Calcutta when, with my back to the sea, a short wave with the power of a linebacker took me out at the knees, sending me a-- first, and rod second, into the churn...
Any time any or all of you want to hit the water, feel free to let me know.
Cheers,
Sid

Tess what can I say, you outfished the guys on a PINK LC of all colors.:Surprised: I really didn't think that Pink nightmare would produce much for you, but you insisted I tie it on and you proved me wrong. :Applause: I can see your skills improving every time we hit the surf and I think it's time for me to step it up so I can keep up with you.

Arthur, congrats on your first Bean on the LC. Yesterday was a rough one for me indeed, but I can't sit back having a day like that for long. I'll be back out there again real soon. It was good sharing the sand with you before you go on lockdown and I hope our schedules will work out so we can still fish with you every month. Good luck to you on your new business venture.

Mike, you always crack me up. You and Arthur's early morning McDonald's run had us thinking about breakfast all morning that we had to make a little detour before arriving at the second spot. LOL You had us going in the morning with that shovelnose. Thought for sure it was going to be the legal to put you on top of the LC Challenge leaderboard. Looking forward to more of your landlocked butt reports. :Thumbs Up:

Robert, bro you are a beast! You were literally wading in the casting zone. I've never done very well on my light colored LC, but from now on I'll be sure to never leave home without it. Nice job on picking up a few more flatties out in HB.

Sid, it was nice meeting and fishing with you for the first time. Sorry about your gear getting all fudged up, but better your gear than your knees. I hope to fish with you again soon and thanks for the ride back to the car.

John, I always play back in my mind the order in which I put my gear on before leaving the house. Gives me a quick checklist of what I need to bring. It was good fishing with you again buddy. I wish I had your height to retrieve some of my lost LC's.

Justin, it was good fishing with you again. Your fish sighting got me excited for future surf ventures to come. Thanks again for offering to drive us back to our car. That cobble stone is brutal on the feet.

I've known Arthur since high school and NO landlocked Butts have ever been able to cage him.

Great report Tess!

With the pink lady in hand you schooled all of us on how to locate, stick and land the only legal halibut for the day. I personally NEVER have any expectations when it comes to fishing but inside somehow I knew that you would do well and Arthur would pull some kind of a rabbit out of a hat and that corbina was it.
Tess and Jason.....you two make a great team out there for sure.
A quick shout out to the whole team........ I couldn't ask for better company on the sand and today I finally met Justin (very cool cat) and Sid who is a pleasure to fish with as well.
Sid actually made me feel YOUNG when decided it was Nap Time on the beach
When I saw him laying down on the beach in his waders along side of folks in swimwear I almost freaked out and thought I was going to have to perform CPR....LOL
Then I realized.......he was just doing what I felt like doing! My problem is that if I layed down......I wouldn't have been able to get back up!
I smiled so much on this day that my cheeks were getting cramps (No rude comments please....LOL)

Arthur......I will do my best to follow your lead my friend as second in command and I know the team will do just fine. Something tells me though that once your freezer is out of fish your beautiful woman will put you on the hunt more than one time a month.
Thanks to all of the Salt Water Attack Team for blessing my life on the sand and here on the FNN.
You are truely a special group of folks.

Tess,
Fantastic job out there! You outfish the guys again with the only legal, and with a pink LC! Very well written report too. Try to leave some fish for the others next time!

Arthur,
You finally got that corbina on the LC! I remember you talking about how you farmed one a while back at Pea Soup, and how you were really looking forward to getting one. Well, it looks like Poseidon decided to give you a little parting gift. Also, I agree with Mike.... the power of women who want you to bring home fresh fish is not to be underestimated!

Robert,
Nice WSB! You're definitely the WSB catching machine, and it seems like you've caught another in almost every report.

John,
Sorry to hear about the parking issues. It seems like it's harder and harder to find free parking close to the beach recently.

Sid,
Good to see you were able to make it out there with the team, and hope to meet you soon!
