Ok this is gonna be my 4th trip to the harbor and gonna rent a skiff, I know its time I found out about what the tidal system means in accordance with the bite. I looked at at the tidal chart for this sun and its gonna be high tide from sunrise till about 10 am then low tide till about 5pm but what does this mean to me the novice ? Any help would be greatly appreciated guys, again thanks !

fish the rising tide early as possible, this is when most of the food on the sea floor will become loose an fish are more likely to be active. Look for bird action also

good luck n have fun

A big mistake is to view the tide cycle with a black/white mentality.

in some areas of the harbor, the bite is better during a dropping tide.

Far far back in the channel, I see better action during a falling tide, however there are times were a good spring tide can bring in massive croaker schools.

I try to fish the hours before and after any tide movement, whether it be incoming or outgoing low and high tides.

Pitching the docks/piers is better during high tides just because there's more space underneath the docks for them to not be as spooky.
