View Full Version : 7-21 LP My Nephews first fish

Went for an afternoon session out at Perris. Took my son and my nephew, Justin, out as Justin tells me that he has never caught a fish by himself. Got on the water by 4:30pm hit the buoy line with no luck. I tried bait n wait with Justin but switch him to a Yo Zuri snap bean to hold his interest. Drifted down to the East end fast as the wind push us faster than I could untangle Justin's line. Anchored up at the East end and Justin wanted to fish my Baitcasting rod with a jerk bait on it. I casted it for him and let him reel it in and on the third cast BAM! But Justin wanted to catch one all by himself. We continue around the East end and sure enough he got what he was looking for. A nice 10" BG with a 8" to follow. My son Jared showed Dad how it is done with a nice LMB on a 4" robo. Off the lake by 7:30pm. Justin is already asking when we can go again. It's better than catching them yourself. The pics tell the story better than I.

Nice going, I'd be proud to catch fish like that. I'll be out there tomorrow on my tube and hope to find fish that nice.

Yeah I hear ya....The fact that he hasn't stopped talking about it and is asking me when we can go again was well worth it.

Very nice! Those Yo Zuri can do a nice number on the panfishes. I got a nice small carp off the snap bean a wee bit back too, but released it because it was too small to eat. Don't know why a carp jumped a snap bean

AD - Thx, it was after one of your post I went out and bought Yo Zuri. Been "hooked" every since.

Congrats to your nephew! With you helping him the odds were definitely in his favor. The wind was brutal that day.
