Don Diddion just landed this monstrous 29.10 Blue Catfish on 7/16/11 while fishing the Trees in the Santiago Flats. Don was fishing with a chunck of Mackeral when he made the catch. This fish was released per Irvine Lake's save the Blues policy earning Don a free admision pass the the lake. Congratulations Don!

That defenitely trumps the catfish i caught at pyramid when i was like 10. Im actually supposed to be heading up to irvine for my first time in a couple of weeks.

noteable- This Big Blue was successfully C&R'd by VineAssist himself- (save the Blue Catfish Policy/Receive Free admission pass) IF you come up with a big fish, by all means ask us to help you C&R if needed (C&R Catch and Release).

Very nice. I have been sticking to salt water to learn to fish but I must admit Lake Irvine looks like you can't go wrong right now. It's on FIRE!!!!! I want to go. Can people bring kayak's there?

Kayaks are allowed on Irvine Lake. However, their must be no body contact with the water. To launch a kayak it is $5.00 on top of your normal admission fee.
