I bought some lugworms today that I'm planning on taking out to Dana Pt tomorrow, gonna fish the kelp. Does anyone have any tips on using them, how do they fare vs. the usual live chovies or squid strips, etc?
OT--also would like to try using the leftovers at DVL Sunday. Stripers like em?:Secret:

The only thing I can say but thankfully never has happend to me yet, Is that those little buggers can bite you pretty good. I don't think they'll take a pound of flesh but have heard they do bite.

These make a decent bait, however they're fragile, and easily torn apart.

I would rather use live sandcrabs, fresh mussel, or shrimp, for these areas.

Bring some PEAS! Some monster opaleyes lurk around there!

You can purchase Nuclear worms from big fish tackle, which are like giant pile worms, much fatter, usually around a foot-long, just snip a piece off and toss it out there! Nuclear worms are super-tough, and dont die in your car.

Thanks! I'll look for those nuclear worms. I'll post up if I have any luck with these lugs.

Call Alex at the Rusty Hook in San Pedro. He gets nulcear worms some months.
Those 2' nuke worms are pretty cool you can cut off a couple inches and they heal right up, just dont cut the head off, start at the tail.
