Hey guys,

I'm going to go to puddingstone lake this weekend to try it out.

Any tips or advice or lures, baits, locations?

Thanks,
Kevin

Lots of gills..but a bit small sometimes, some good size ones can be caught with red worms, meal worms and wax worms on light line with a # 8 size hook and you might get lucky and hook up with a Crappie that way, the pudd has some big ones in it. The bass are sneaky in that lake and can be caught in many ways. My favorite lure is plastics like dark colored Robo Worms, use 8 pound test and fly line if possible.....The key for that lake is watch your line for any movement at all. A ten pounder can move it just as little as a half pounder set the hook if you see that. Anyway hope it helps and it works for me at the pudd. Well sometimes.

If you just want to catch some fish gills are your best bet there in the summer. Just do what I said in my reply and it should work. The north end of the swim beach cove can be good and the docks in the sail boat cove and also off the piers. Just move around if you can, good luck.

So how did it go? I know lately the gils have been hitting on wax worms but only in the morning on the north and east side. A couple of nice cats have been caught lately on nightcrawlers too.
