Hello everyone, finally made the trip out to DVL with my buddy Cliff. Got to the Lake at 0615 did a rental boat check and headed out. Weather was perfect w/light wind for most of the day. Glad I paid the extra $ for a trolling motor that didn't even work ( wasn't even windy ) p.o.s. I tell ya. Well I guess those rentals just get more thrashed by the day. We made the best of it though. Cliff had the hot stick with 6lb fluoro d/s 4in watermelon robos. Me had a tougher time with 10lb fluoro but still managed to pull my weight. Fish of the day went 4lbs. Saw a couple pep's hooking into striper's. Cliff also landed 2 Smallmouth on shad Berkley Gulp 3 inch. off the rock wall. Points were key, and fish were in 5-30ft.

So we pull into the marina and one of the kids tells me I messed up the prop, I told him I didn't hit anything but he wanted to argue. I checked the prop myself and there was a few minor dings but nothing that I did, nor that would affect the performance. Also told him about the trolling motor and he didn't even have a response to that. Finally he say's "well next time be more careful " cause he knew i wasn't going pay for someone else's mistake.

Cliff has most of the photos on his camera but here's some I took with my phone.

P.S. Thanks Pete Marino, for some great intel. Cliff also wanted to say thanks since he landed his 1st smallie.

Nicely done.........if you're going to rent a boat....dont get the deluxe. Everything on them doesn't wrk anyway. Just get the basic model. 90 bucks will get you a half day on the bass taxi.......that's my recommendation. Nicely done on the feeesh!

THERE SUPPOSED TO TIP THE MOTOR UP SO YOU CAN SEE THE PROP BEFORE YOU EVER LEAVE ,THEN THERES NO ARGUING AT THE END OF THE DAY, IF THEY DONT SHOW YOU THATS THE OLDEST TRICK IN THE BOOK , MAKE THEM SHOW YOU THE TROLLING MOTOR HAS A CHARGE ON THE BATTERY AND IT WORKS ,WHY PAY FOR IT IF IT DOESNT WORK, WHILE THE LAKE WAS LOW AND THERE WAS NO LAUNCHING ,I PUT THEM THRU THE DRILL, THEY DIDNT LIKE THAT,,,,,,,,THEY SHOULD AT THE PRICE OF A RENTAL BOAT, AND DONT TALK ABOUT LOSING AN ANCHOR,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NICE BASS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,t/o,,,,,,,

He did show it to me and said it looked good, but then he wrote New on the rental agreement. So they tried but failed in there attempt to take more money out of my pockets....lol, hopefully I will be on my own boat one day

The plastic props are junk.
I had to pay 15 dollars for each blade (45$for the whole prop).
It was my fault though.
Nice smallie.

DVL dock kids crack me up. I would've told him to start scrubbing the deck or go get a real job.
