because of the last weeks striper killing rampage i had a day to my self ,so it didnt take much thinking of were to fish.went up early sat morning got thru the gate and headed to the main marina,i had prepped the boat while waiteing for the girls to do the inspects on a couple boats ahead of me,i hit the ramp and put the boat in the water, parked the truck and while i walked down the ramp,i saw a boat rolling in it was t/b and gatblood,we talked a minut and headed to the stripey zone. we worked that zone harder than trolly works a ham sandwitch ,deepwater shallow up and down the whole zone and some. all i could get was some hits but no hook sets.my boat and scotts took turns moving out then coming back ,all i get in that area was smallmouths three little ones and a big one.going into the early afternoon i didnt see scott, so i figured they had to fix the there truck and get home. i pressed on, as i made a pass thru shocks alley i got to a little minor point as i went over it i saw a huge bait ball but no stripers,i kept moving over it and just when the rigs hit the spot the inside rig blew up , i stopped the boat and the fight started, finally after a bunch of runs the pig hit the deck. i was so happy for some big fish action , i fixed the rigs and went back thru the area ,heading the other direction i rolled thru ,no love i turned around and went the just like the first time and i saw the baitball again as soon as the rigs went thru ,it got slammed and another fight was on,after even more fighting another pig hit the deck.i put the fish in the dead well while i fixed the rigs and made some passes on the spot ,but to no avail the stripers school had blown the bait ball to pieces and it was gone,so i kept on rolling till i ran out of gas ,pulled the boat out and cleaned one of the pigs the other rode home in one piece so i could show a couple of my sons friends so they could see how big the fish really are that come out of that place, they came by last night ,whoops i sold another guide trip,,,,,,,,,T/B THE BLOODY CUTTING BOARD WAS JUST FOR YOU,,,,,,,,,s/o,,,,,,,THE STRIPEYS WERE 36 AND 39 INCHES LONG

I'll be out next week from Wed / Sun at Harrahs creek. Is it possible to get any from the shore? Since i'm just driving up and camping I won't have access to a boat. I have caught small mouth bass, but never fished for anything else there

I've gotten stripers fishing from shore....If I were you, I'd start at dawn, cast a zara spook in a fan pattern, move 50 yards and start again...Keep going until the sun is well on the water. Lots of work, and the shad have not been schooling along the shoreline, so one or two fish over a couple of hours would be doing ok. Most would be smallmouth, with maybe a largemouth mixed in, and you always have the chance of nailing a striper doing this as well. As I said before, repeat the whole routine again in the evening until dark. After dark, put out a couple lines with anchovy chunks and kick back. Overall, alot of work, but that's fishing.

Wally Mart on 10th West had the blades as I recall on clearance for the longest time. Assuming you have the Berkley electric one. Don't know if there are any still left because it was like a month ago but they sat in the clearance aisle for 2 months prior to that. Oh and nice fish!
