.Randy "lordisgod"postname, my fishin bro ,was due a fishin trip on
my boat cuz after 2/1/2 months of me not fishin with him
so far,I kept sayin "Wait, just wait, !!! some day when I get
a saturday off we will go.
Well ,at 5.30am , he calls me and says he is waiting parked on the
street in front of the Cabrillo gate http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif I just turned down 22nd st. from Gaffy st. with the truck and boat and we were in line to drop the boat by 5.45am

Stopped at the bait barge and Randy buys a "Kayak" size scoop of sardines
and we start drifting for Halibut for about one hour for nothing http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif
Decided to hit one of the outside jetty areas for some possible Calico,s
and long story short is that Randy caught at least seven Calico,s on the
"Bleeding Maceral" .4in. swimbait, some keepers and some not, but some

Funny thing was that I kinda felt bad that, since he was putting in $30.00

Randy get some ? " Fifteen minutes later he hooks into a 17in fat boy Calico http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_sad.gif He was using his REVO and casting that sucker far to the kelp line off the jetties,and was nailin them for about two hours !!! while
I was .getting the boat just where he wanted it http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif Current would bring in close to the Jetty and he,d be telling me "Go out farther , go .out
farther, time and time again !!! MAN !!! I felt like a Taxi driver, or tour

with perfect drift conditions and learned much about fishin that area .
Gotta do it again soon. Did see one guy pull in about a24in sheep head. Saw him back at the dock, and he said he was using baby frozen shrimp !!

Been moving on and off for two months after work from North Hollywood to Glendale,
so only shot to the BU after work in Washing Machine Conds. for an hour or so in the
surf a couple of times. But getting tues. & wends. off now for change, should get some
decent catch reports now :Smile: Can't go anywhere for a good all day search and destroy
mission though,due to a family members (Can't be left alone all day ) situation, But when
things work out, it,s all day Halibut Huntin Time again !!! :Smile:
