I've been making my rounds there pretty frequently these past few months and I haven't seen any real poaching. The closest thing to it was a guy taking a dozen Gills' home for dinner. That bag might have had crickets in them like allIdoIsfish said.

a few months ago i was at legg lake it was just after spawn but there were still a few bass on beds i seen this one guy he hardly spoke any English he had a walmart special and he was trying his hardest to get this one bass to bite. but it was just to funny.

hers what his rig was

some really cheap 8 foot poll with a really cheap spinning reel.

tossing a jerk bait that was set up on a Carolina rig with what looked like a 2oz slider sinker behind a 6inch leader.

so jerkbait + 6 inch leader + 2oz sinker.

he kept getting snagged on the rocks near the drain in the north lake. he spent about 2 hours trying to get his last lure unstuck before he gave up and went home.

a dozen gills is still way under the limit. so you dint see anything close to poaching that's good.

Well, Ive seen people of ALL ethnicities and colors using gear that was a bit ridiculous for Legg Lake... Just because people dont use the $500 gear you use, doesnt make them poachers... Instead of getting online and hatin on some poor person who knows squat about the appropriate tackle, have the heart and approach them and at least let them know what theyre doin wrong...

Some of you must be so miserable in life, hating a people who make up 80% of the state you live in...

some of those dudes using over sized gear seem like experienced fisherman because they can sure cast the crap out of those saltwater setups with 4oz lead right to center of the lake. IMHO that takes some experience. I think it's less about fishing knowledge and more about I don't give a Fu** about what's proper as long as I can catch me a fish.

Before jumping the gun and blame Mexicans, goldfish make great catfish bait, illegal in California though. BTW Petco also sells waxworms which are pretty much mealworms. Sounds like you need to educate yourself on Petco amigo!

Oh and one more thing. I understand that you are very ecstatic about your and your friend's LMB catches at Legg, but for the sake of the fishery could you at least keep your lure out of the photo? I've seen some solid pigs like the one in this photo taken home by some anglers before. I hope you understand.

Reply something like this when you see me in person. I can put what ever I want on this. I was trully not even thinking of the background and u can care less. We put them all back. We are catch and release and that's all that matters. We do our part. "They" may have the stuff to catch some big ones, but "they" still gotta get the technique down. If "they" catch one or a couple, then I would say "they" got lucky. But just cause I get what your saying I'll watch my self pics next time. And the other guy, don't worry bout my "ds" distance. I'm catching them. That's all that matters.
