Headed out to "the pier" and caught roughly 30-40 mackeral and sea trout... We were going for leopard sharks and shovel nose also:EyePop:..... well we caught this crossbreed of a mackeral and a yellowtail looking color and i used him has live bait.. 30 min later my reel was clicking its clicker. We used a dropper loop with 30lb line and 4/0 hook and 5oz. pyramid weight. My trusty calstar 800 and avet mx loaded with 400yds of 50lb braid brought the bad boy in roughly 5-10min:Secret: IM having some trouble uploading attachment images so it will be updated

Ya years ago I got a 5' footer out of Alamitos Bay on squid. They sure are tasty! Would still love to know what pier you were at?
