This morning, was a good morning.
Low -.9ft in the 5am hour
High 3ft i think at 11am hour
Wind hardly any to complain about
Water: mid 60s probably

Went out fishing with my uncle today. We had never fished the surf together and since he caught a beast YFC last weekend without me I had to get out there with him today.

Dug up crabs, purchased some ghost shrimp and that was bait.
First fish goes to my uncle, a round ray.

Took me a while but I hooked into a beastly wiggles with a #4 leader, got it in close enough to see but couldnt finish the job before POP. Easily 3-1/2ft. Oh well.

Caught a perch on ghost shrimp

And my very first corbina! This bad boy went 14"

My uncle also caught his first bean at 11"
Both on sand crab. My uncle used the bead by the hook trick for his. Saw a bigger model creep from a trough right in front of us. That was my first time seeing one do a somewhat slide. Pretty cool.
Heres some structure

4lb test leader. My uncle was using 6. He had an orange bead on the leader which sits right above the sandcrab.
I CAN'T WAIT for the 20"er. There's a bunch fo bean reports coming thru. This summer should be swell.

Ryan, congrats on your first bean. If you can, try digging up some softshells. Seems like any fish will hit a softshell, regardless of the line wt. Live ghosties are great too. WTG

We had few in our bunch but those seem a little hard to find. I don't know why but I can't seem to locate the softies as easily.
Going back out tomorrow so we will see what I find then.
