Last two days we have been spanking the chunk BG. Had 3 other guys out yesterday and we easily had 4 BG limits (avg. 8” to 9”) by 9 AM – on one stop. Water temp 73 fishing 17’ to 18’. We didn’t keep any fish.

Today was a little better with fishing friend Noel. Noel got his PB 10.5” BG on one of his custom tyes. I was throwing a belly spinner Chub and a new rubber legged jig that has been almost automatic. Yo-Zuri 2lb or Tectan 2lb. Another solid morning of hook ups – had to stop fishing to eat! I kept 15 for dinner and Noel kept 22. Home today before noon.

The fish we are catching are staging for the next spawn but we are catching post spawn fish also.

Nice job out there LedHed, must be nice catching fish on something you made. I know if I made something that caught fish effectively I would feel a unique sense of pride :)

Nice work on the gillies! Okay, it looks like no one has noticed, but in the 4th pic the gill' is missing it's left eye. What's up with that?

Nice, I will be out there Saturday 7/2. I let go a bass last Saturday that the hook went threw his check and poped out his right eye. Good to see that they still can live to be caught again. Really good looking fish there.

Very nice catches. Man..those gills are growing fast. Must be high level of foods in the lake during the hot days. Hope you didn't hold onto those pregnant ones. Give them a chance to let loose those eggs for the next heaping season.

Nice Fish! Those are some big gills. Those size gills had to be fun on ultra light tackle. Not to mention a pretty good fish taco. Great report.

Thnx VC, bg1, kelster, & tagg27

SB - Custom jigs & custom rods. If you can't find want you want - make it. It is a great filling when you can create something that fools a fish into biting.Especially at a super fertile lake like Perris.

SRHBRO951 - can't get out of the Southside, we'll get the nino out again.

iftl - thnx - the one eye phenomena is not that rare, not sure why.

TAG - thnx - we do not keep female panfish with eggs
