Just got back from a trip to Baja (will report soon in out of state board...Dorado, Yellowtail, and yes, Marlin) and my son Tim(9) fell in love with a basket full of shark jaws down at Mama Espinosa's at El Rosario. I tried to steer him away from the idea of paying a bunch of pesos for those and eventually his mom prevailed. Anybody know where I can find a dry set of shark jaws for a kid? I told him that some day I might bring him a set from one of our adventures, but I don't know when I'll get to go shark fishing this year. I just want to keep him interested.

Ideas?

Also, I brought home a Sailfish head from one I caught last year. Now the ants have eaten away most everyting except a very thick oily gew stuck all over it. Can I boil off that stuff? Not sure what the next step is.

More Ideas?

I have seen them on stands and shops all over San Diego area. Take the 15 straight down. Short drive for some shark jaws.LOL. I actually have one from a Mako I caught out of San Diego about 15 years ago. The deckhand hand cut em out for 8bucks a head back then. Don't know now.

put it in some bleach, and try to cut away as much of the loose stuff as you can. It takes a while for drying out

She said her dad got them 40 years ago. $2 ea
They look like dried cactus.

you could always dry the head out, and let carpet beetles clean it for ya.
