I’m amazed at the volume of water in the So.Cal. creeks this year. It’s almost July and my favorite is still running strong:

I thought that there may be a fish holding in the seam of calmer water along the close bank. Pulled this guy out:

Nice refuge from the urban sprawl. It feels like you have been suddenly transported to an Appalachian Mountains brook trout stream. A nice place to unwind:

It's hard to believe that you’re actually in arid Southern California - several varieties of cacti can be found just a few yards from the water - an amazing contrast of ecosystems:
