Family reunion July 6- 11 in Oceanside. Looking for some help fishing outside Oceanside harbor. Will have several (Nine) Grand kids on board our 22 foot Center console. Hope to put the kids on some fish. Any suggestions on areas to meter would be appreciated. High tides will be early AM. We will probably be on the water by 9 am most days.
Please send PM or post on this Thread. You know the kids are expecting Grandpa to give them an unforgettable fishing experience. Hope you can help. Thanks

No idea about the harbor, sorry. But I'm pretty sure there's still mackerel running around the pier. Good for kids, especially since you have a bunch of them!

First of all, patience is a good thing...:Big Grin: Just Kidding

Head out and shoot North to the power plant. It is a forty minute ride and there is always fish there and if you have a fish finder, BONUS!
Look for the water outlet from the plant as there is lots of variety there. You'll know if the plant is running by the big boil of water about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from shore, directly in front of the big boobs.
Keep in mind that a mid morning fish trip is less desirable than an early morning outing.

Good Luck,
Robert

There is a series of artificial reefs within a few miles of the harbor. I have a 4 page .pdf guide to the reefs but can't figure out how to attach a .pdf???

Emailed 2 files to you. They are scanned from an old DFG publication on artificial reefs. Good luck.
