Anywhere on the lake should do "if" you use light line, 2 or 4 pound test. You may have to travel around the lake to findthe best schools.

I took my daughter fishing for the first time @ the pudd for fathers day and she had the red ears and gills dialed in fishing a bobber with a 24 inch lead. wax worms did the best over mills, red worms, and nightcrawler pieces.

Good luck

Why in the world would you tie on a Darter head to fish waxworms?
