A bit late for this report, sorry. Had a nice time up in Mammoth and fishing Crowley Lake over Father’s Days weekend. The full moon seemed to be affecting the bite, but the weather overall was great. Temps in the mid 70’s with water temps in the mid 60s. Fished a few hours Saturday & Sunday with the family. The bite was a bit slow, but, the fish that we caught were big. Mostly, 2lbs plus with a few that were close to 4 lbs. The afternoon bite was better than the morning, although we never got out earlier than 10:30am and generally left the lake around 3:00pm.

Lots of fun and it was nice seeing the kids catch some very healthy, beautiful Crowley trout. Here are some pictures.

great pics!!! those trout look healthy.

and the brown trout looks like one hell of a fish!

All fish were caught on inflated nightcrawlers. We used 2-3 ' length leader, 3lb. test floro. The algae bloom is starting to show. The water has about 4-5' visibility. Lots of bugs, so, the fly fishing is also in full swing. Crowley seems to be at least 2 weeks behind its normal schedule due to the long, cold winter.

Great fish! That's what I like about Crowley, when you hook up it's worth your while. Nice pics.!
