i just bought a brand new trident 13 its on its way but i am now looking into the fish finder and livewell for the kayak.
i am thinking a cooler for the bait tank with a bilge pump so the bilge pump says that it draws 2 ah so i know that i would need a 12v battery for the pump but what size.
for the fish finder the max draw will be 615 ma so .615 amp so what size for the battery.

i tried to read on google but it is a little confucing so if anyone can give me some input it would be great thanks

If the fish finder and the bait pump are all the you will run, your draw will be 2.615 Amps.

So a 2.615 Amp hour battery would run your battery for 1 hour.

A 21 Amp Hour battery would run them for 8 hours. 8 x 2.614 = 20.92

I did a Google search for

12v 30ah battery

and came up with lots of stuff.

Higher Amp hours will be better. You could use 2 30Ah batteries to keep the price down.

Why not get a nice deep cycle marine, or just a plain small type car battery, which cost pretty much the same price as two or three of the 30AHr. Hit Walmart, and get one for about $65. Diehard brand. I got one for the 55lbs thrust Endura C2 trolling motor, and the Humminbird 728 fish finder, drawing the same current as yours. Plenty of juice to power both units for 8hrs+, that is, if I don't burn the power going top speed all day long.

My best recommendation would be to call the guys @ OEX. Either Mission Bay or Sunset beach...dedicated Kayak fisherman. They have alot of experience in this area and might be able to help you figure out what you'll need.
Given some rave reviews I've read on one of the kayak forums and their reputation, I'd feel comfortable having them outfit my kayak any time.
