Wayne, Ron and I went fishing on Saturday.
We headed out to the bouy line area and set up near Capt'n and Steve and my buddy Mike.
We were trying a new location and the other boats started picking up fish before us. Yvonne was first up, in Mike's boat, then Capt'n slayed 3 in just a little while. We adjusted our position then started picking up a few.
Wayne was first up on our boat with a couple, then Ron farmed a few. I farmed my first bite to bad knot then picked up one. Wayne got another. Ron was calling Wayne's bites for him, so we took his picture with one of Wayne's fish.

Credit where credit is due. Wayne was so busy fishing that I couldn't get him to pose for a picture.
Then I got the big fish of the day 4+ lb. The fish fought very well, because I had loosened my drag for the smaller one I got earlier.

I think this is one of the smaller fish. That's Capt'n and Steve over my right shoulder and Mike and Yvonne over my left shoulder. You can see there were plenty of boats out there.
Ron farmed a few more and I decided that I better check out his rig. The rig was fine but he was putting his hook through the back of the cut bait, turning it and burying the hook in the belly. I showed him how I hook my bait then he didn't have another hit for hours.
We had a pretty good pick, up until about 11 am. then things got really slow. I think we had 10 in the boat.
A while later Wayne picked up another but things were moving slow and we were done with our naps, so we went exploring.
We checked a bunch of spots but wound up at Elizabeth Canyon. Ron picked up 2 nicer grade fish here. we were so happy that he was finally on the board.
We talked about our options and decided to move back to the buoy line for the end of the day. ( I wounder what happened in Elizabeth Canyon after we left! :EyePop:)
I picked up one more fish before we headed home. That fish hit my bait on the drop and it was the hardest hit that I've had in months. It was a 3 lb fish but I love it when they just slam into the bait and keep on going.

Here's a picture Wayne and Ron at the end of the day with the sushi cooled striper. I haven't heard yet how the sushi was.

Here are my fish in the dead well at the end of the day.
We got 14 fish and had the opportunity to have about 7 more. Not bad considering it was only a few days after the Full Moon.
The bite was definitely better in the morning.
It was a good day! I can't wait to go back.
