Decided to fish NPH by shore yesterday. Got there around noon. Father's day weekend made the harbor overly packed than usual. A little bit of wind was blowing as well.
My plan was to work along and in between each dock throughout the shore. I caught a couple spotties, a YFC, and lost one nice spotty that instantly broke me off on fresh line with a good drag on the drop. Also broke off on a huge bat ray that I had absolutely no control of. I guess that's what I get for using a 2-6lb rod with 8lb line :LOL:
One last cast before I ended the day was this fat pig right along the dropoff in around 5 feet of water. She wasn't tight up on the docks as I thought she would be but more in the open sand which made me wonder. Unusual but nonetheless made my day.

So glad to see that one was not so hungry when the "Bass Widow" was working that area yesterday!
That area was designated as off limits for me yesterday but I believe thay were working the area!
Did you see these poachers working that area?

Very. Almost lost it to the pilings. It took drag on me even when drag was very tight. Thank God the beast was more in the open area when I hooked it. :Cool:

I have had some lunkers but damn that thing is huge! Don't know if they come much bigger. Nice job.
