Location: Orange County Shoreline
Date/Time: Friday Night/ 11pm - 2 am.
Tackle: #1 sliding weight 4oz. w/ cut ghost shrimp (Ran braid on this setup due to sharp
rocks and strong currents)
#2 LC Lure (very difficult to fish, I'm sure I just didn't know what I was doing)

Hit a spot for a few hours last night and ended up calling it quits at 2am with one large Sargo... Sculpin... and Surf Perch, all released:Smile:

This was actually my first trip surf fishing and I had a blast. I look forward to meeting some of you guys out there soon. Sorry there are no pictures but I didn't take much on this run. All I was told was long walk and sharp rocks before heading out.

What's up Slick,
Congrats on your Sargo, bet it gave you a nice little fight.
Also, a sculpin from the surf is pretty rare.
Thanks for the report,
Robert

Yeah... the Sculpin surprised the hell out of me too. I went back Sunday and saw the spot we fished during the day and at low tide. There was a whole lot of rock structure out there that we couldn't even see at night passed the breakers.

To be honest with you... I'm not even sure where the cast went that caught that fish. It felt like is wasn't far out but after seeing it during the day it must have sailed out pretty far where it dropped off past the rocks.

While throwing some gulp plastics on Sunday we managed a handful of small Calicos in the same area.

I hope it's the first of many flyngby. I think all my buddies are tired of hearing me talk about it though (I need this new rod... and that reel.... and these lures... and and and... HAHAHAHA)
I was going to go out afterwork today but I'm just flat *** tired!
