Local LB Area 6/13

[HESBROS]

Decided to take the "Hesbros" out Monday, so I invited John and Robert and they were both up for the trip. We were meeting at 0200 in LN since I was pondering a Cat trip. Rich and I arrived at 0100 and got the boat in the water and discussed our game plan. We decided a local trip would be best since it is the first trip of the season for the boat. John and Robert showed up at 0200 as planned. They boarded and we were on our way to pick up some bait.

We cleared the harbor and there was a south southeast wind coming up the coastline. We got a half scoop of squid and a half scoop of dine and headed down the coast to the newport reefs.

We arrived our destination and started fishin in the darks in hope of hooking up one of the local WSB. Dawn cane and went and we had no WSB, Rich hooked into something of some size but lost it after a short battle.

We kept at it and Rich got a couple Sandras.

Not sure what time it was when I decided we would go play with the cuda so we headed west and found the fleet a few miles outside Angeles Gate.

We started off using live bait and they were biting.

Rich was the first to get one to the boat.

There was steady action on the bites, but not the landing. John and robert were hooking uo but having a lil trouble getting them to the boat.....Hmmmm, not the surf?

Well John decided to use his faithful LC......

By the time we headed in, we were all throwing an LC....What a blast! I also got a few cuda....

We decided to call it a day around 1330-1400 as the westerly wind was coining up.

All in all a fun day of fishing and friends.

John, thanks for going and great fishing with you as usual.

Robert, you always make things fun, even when the catching is slow. You are welcome on the Hesbros anytime!

Hey Eddie! Thanks for having us aboard! I definitely had a blast fishing with you guys again. It had been a loooong while since I've been aboard the Hesbros. It's too bad the WSB didn't want to play... those dang nibblers!:LOL: I think I also had one of the right kind on as it swam away with my bait but setting the hook like
I did while using a circle hook wasn't the greatest idea:LOL:

I kept getting bit off by the cudas on the dines so I figured I'll let em bite my lc and not my line! worked great!

I know I was stinking up the boat with my skunk...:Skunk:, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
I was just so tired from only getting 5 hours sleep total for the previous 2 nights..:No Pity:
