Long drive but had to get up to the Sierras. Left So. Cal. at 3AM with my brother and another friend. (3 total) SOB Officer G. Perkins gave my bro a speeding ticket on the way up for doing 78 in a 65 zone over by Diaz Lake.
Started fishing Wed about 11 up at North Lake. Got out on the float tubes and managed to land a few. Nothing to write about. Float tubed out after a couple of hours, we worked our way down the creek (N. Fork) before heading to South Lake for the evening bite. Creek bite was sloooooooowww. Only landed 6-9 between the 3 of us. All released. Started to rain at South as we got there but managed one nice brown on the LURE in addition to some 10 dinker bows. Got out of there and went to sleep.
Thursday was money. Got a boat at South and it was BENDO-mania. Caught and caught and caught fish all morning while anchored down at the SPOT. Bite slowed so we moved over to the inlets where some D.A. giant fan landed a 6 lber 20 feet from us. Got hungry so we outroed it back to camp. Headed out to fish after grubbin. Hit the S. Fork and the action was nonstop. Ended up with a few small Alpers and saw the big one get away. What can you do? Weather got nasty so we called in quits.
Managed to catch and release about 60 to 70 rainbows with a good share of browns between the 3 of us. Dynamite!!! Pics to come this evening once I figure out how to shrink em!!!!!
PinkMeat...always baby.
