war baits slayer heads with 5-6" or even 9" bighammers, shimano waxwings. Btw slayer jig heads are weedless and get thru the kelp great.

browns seem to work good, the brighter the sun and clearer the water the clearer the bait, red calico hunter is a good bait for sunny and stained water or overcast and clear water, christmas tree is a great sunny day bait, toast is good in the morning b4 the sun is high, sardine is a good color to. bass pro dosnt sell those jig heads, i think tacklewherehouse dose though. try www.warbaits.com

I've had good luck using 5" root beer flake twin-tail scampi's. Old school but they still work. Use anywhere from 1/2 to 1 1/2 oz jig head depending on current. If the boat has squid strips you can hook one on the jig hook.

4 to 5inch swimbaits are fine.

a wham will be more effective for you and they are much cheaper red leadhead 1/4 to 3/4 oz with a black &silver or brown and silver. dont forget to superglue it to the leadhead, one bait will last 5x as long.
