With no wind in the forcast The wife and I decided it was time to hit up the crappie again. Got a bit of a late start not hitting the water until almost 8am. After a short troll trying for the trout and no biters we headed to the trees in the south fork where we had good fishing last time. I always had to look around to find the right bush previously but could always find em eventually. not the case today. Spent 3 hours and half the trolling motor battery looking for a grand total of 3 crappie and 2 blue catfish. not what we were hoping for. With time running out I went on a hunch and headed for Kissack/Jaughins and the good old cages. Pulled up and there was only one boat there. Usually not a good sign. I meetered around and saw some good marks. I asked the guys if they were doing any good. they replied "yea we got a couple". Threw the jig out and was on instantly. Continued for the next 25 minutes to slay em'. every cast was a fish or a hit at least. The wife had an appointment to be at the gym and needed to leave. "just a couple more honey" I said, but no dice. She gave me the stink eye and I knew it was time to go. We will get an earlier start tomorrow and be back on em' again. all fish were cookie cutter pounders. no throw backs in this bunch.
