Went out to Long Beach this morning to throw the LC hoping for the elusive Halibut.
Not today. I watched as a float tuber landed pancake after pancake about 100ft beyond my casting distance. So frustrating. Spent 2 hrs tossing the LC.

Packed it up before street sweeping time and headed south. ...Paid my dues...
The tide was at its lowest at this point so I stopped for some Taco Bell and ate it in the parking lot. No hurry.

Walked into Bolsa Chica and scoped out the surf. I was going to keep the crack and grubs in the backpack, and dig up sand crabs this time. Something new.
I used a kitty litter scooper (bright idea, no it wasnt used) and it worked just fine. Didnt take long to get 15 of em.
I didnt move much from this area and managed 5 around this size

This guy was the biggest though.
(Its been brought to my attention my thumb looks funny in this pic. Idk why so ignore it lol)

Ran out of crabs so i dug up some more, which produced another 5 perch. They got smaller as time went on.
Called it a day about 2 and went home.
Fun times in the surf. One day i will whip some Halibut a...

Seems not to many butts are willing to play right now unless you find some warmer water.
Taco Bell? ugh! Next time try Chronic Tacos on Ocean blvd north of Belmont Pier mmm mmm good!

did you try wading stomach-deep? In colder water, the halis will be deeper.

The water has been pretty cold lately, though!

Hey, I was just out there this morning. I could believe you did not catch any halibut, I also had a difficult time but I managed to get a couple. Off to write my report!

Yeah I see you fished 6/8 and 6/10...I fished 6/9 and sometimes fish aren't chewing 3 days in a row.
