Me and my friend were fishing in the redondo beach harbor just past the sportfishing pier and we were trying to catch crabs when i took a hook with some squid on it and put it under some rocks. 10 seconds later i get a take and i pull out and its a 6inch cabazon. easily one of the awesome moments of my life:)

Bill Varney uses the fish in the rock holes method too.
A 29 lb Sheephead was caught off the short pier a couple years ago.

I hit JCS yesterday for a hour. The power plant has been on for 3 days now after being off for 2 months BUT
no bait seen, no macs, no bonito. Saw gulls, pelicans, and a couple seals diving on bait 100' off Burnout yesterday, must have been a school of grunion.

Hey Pikeguy,
Very cool with the Cabbie catch.
Lots of different species around the rocks.
Thanks for the report,
Robert
