Well, it has been a bad year for fishing for me as I have been busy with work and school. So, I decided to get back into archery until I could find some time to hit the water.

I've been looking into that. Too bad Perris doesn't allow bowfishing.

Hey bro, if you think this thing looks crazy, you should see some of those target bows out there. Would love to have one, but I don't want to have to take out a loan to have one. If you're interested, there's an archery range in Pasadena that offers classes on saturdays. The best thing is the first class is free.

Thanks VG. I've only shot it for a couple days in the backyard and I absolutely love it.

Hey bro, there's supposed to be a carp bowfishing event at BBL on June 25-26. Hopefully I could get ready by then.

I have like 50 different arrows for it.
I don't know anything about it.

I shot it once. It was cool.
Then I tried to shoot it again and figured out how you make your arm bloody if you don't know what you are doing. lols

Somebody show me how to hook this puppy up to slay some craps!
Maybe I can screw one o deez things on the front? Five bones and I'm slaying?

That is a really nice recurve bow you got there bro! Is it new or used? Looks to be in really good shape. Anyway, it's hard to tell from the pic but it looks like you will need an arrow rest. They just stick on and inexpensive. Oh yeah, an arm guard comes in pretty handy too. I forgot to bend my elbow the third time I shot mine and the string reminded me of my error. :Embarrassed:

Was given the bow used from somebody I know who recently passed away who had a collection of about 10 of them that they're family sold off. I requested to keep this one.

Should have seen all the nice bows I used to have a few months ago. Had one with screw mounting holes in them etc etc.
Didn't know what to do with them all.

What kind of arrow rest can I use?

I watched some videos how to shoot it on youtube. Maybe I'll look on there for more info about the parts.

Track down an archery shop in your area - look for the mom and pop places (just like you'd do for a tackle shop) they'll be the most helpful - and they'll have a wide selection of ARM GUARDS and rests.

Last time I shot (years ago as a kid) aluminum arrows were the state-of-the-art for target and hunting. I can't imagine what cool stuff they make shafts out of these days. The best fletching then was real feather - not that plastic crap.

There are traditional arrow rests as well as arrow rests for recurve bows. Both styles have a self adhesive backing so you can just srick it on. Bass Pro has some and lancasterarchery.com carries several different styles.
