What a trip...
Left the IE early Friday morning to kick off the summer season and 6th annual "Man Trip". Got up to Bishop and ate, fuel up and donate to the casino all before 2pm. Our destination was Mammoth but since the rest of our party was 200 miles behind we decided to hit up Intake ll. Soon as we pulled up I saw Trout 1 with his uncle. We chatted for a few and gave me some intel. I changed up my rig and the fishing was on fire! I caught and released 20+ fish in a little over 2 hours on his custom worms. My dad and grandfather are old school and did quite well on n/c. Nothing of size but fish none the less. Guy next to me pulled in a 5lb Alpers on a pearl mini jig. Here are a few pics...

Every year I try and fish a new body of water and this year the target was Bridgeport. Woke up Sat and the wind was blowing pretty good but I was determined to fish it. Made it up to Lee Vining and the winds were crazy. After realizing Bridgeport was not going to happen we went to Lundy since it was just right there. We stayed there for 30 min before running for shelter.

Went to Gull Lake and found this

Then we went to the Upper Owens and fished in/near Browns Town. The fishing was good and despite the 20+ mph winds we were able to catch some quality rainbows. I caught and released 30ish fish and 4 others of my party released about the same and kept 18 for friends and family. Most of the fish were in the 12-15 inch range. After fishing we went to Tom's Place to clean the fish, warm up and eat some delicious food.

Sunday we realized we were going nowhere fast so we slept in and stayed warm. Got to Intake ll around 10 and again we killed them. The only problem was it was in the 20's, windy and snowed from time to time. As good as the fishing was I could only stay out for 20-30 min before running to the truck to warm up. Again I used Drew's custom worms while the others n/c and various pb.

Overall the weather was **** cold with snow, wind and more snow but the company could not of been better. I got to spend the weekend with my dad, grandfather, god father and his childhood friend. It was like a living History and Discovery Health channel in one! On the way out of Bishop we stopped by the Vietnam moving wall to make a donation.

Drew

Your worms were killer this weekend. I forgot what you call it but the green with red flaked was the hot ticket. Im proud to say all of my fish were caught on plastic, no bait fish here. You know I have a rod waiting for you. I would of taken more pics but I was freezing. I have only been colder while in boot camp at Naval Station Great Lakes.
