Hello, I am going to taking my family for a fishing trip to Lake Convict. We will be renting a pontoon boat and I was looking for any good fishing advice.

Extremely clear water, use 2 lbs test or 4 fluro.. Backside of the lake near the inlet(s). Enjoy the view!

If you end up "soaking bait" (dough bait of any sort) make sure your leaders are at least 2 ft long.

i did great there trolling 2-3 colors of lead core with thomas boyants red and gold and from shore the power bait salmon egg flavored worked great and i also caught a lot of fish using mini jigs all fish on 2lb test floro also

make sure to bring proper clothing and please do check the weather. Was too windy for me to fish there this memorial weekend. good luck

Only have float tubed it with Fly equipment. So if you get the chance and can do it someday you should. Great time

Heading to Silver and the Loop this week and plan to hit Convict Sunday on the way up (wind permitting). This is the same location I would recommend. Because of the clarity, stay back and throw into the shoreline. You will probably see the hawgs below flipping you off...:LOL:
