Today I wanted to fish my old fishing ground. Got to 72nd st @ 0600 and the water was dookie brown with little salads floating around amd trash on the beach. I fished for 2 hours when the bucket brigade started showing up. I caught a juvi WSB, big black trash bag and a blue plastic glove. Sorry no pic, left the iPhone in the truck. Leaving I realized 72nd st isn't like it was. It's to "well known" and too many guys fishing with 4-5 poles.

Happy Memorial day y'all and be safe. Remember this holiday is more then spending time on the beach, BBQ and a day off work.

Semper Fi to everyone that have served and given the ultimate sacrifices for freedom past and present.

so what was the new species? WSB, BSB (black sea bag), or plastic glove?

Haha the new species was the Juvi WSB. If you fish LB water enough you will catch trash bag, gloves and the occasion condom most of the time.

Congrats on the new species. I was there this morning and worked my way north. Must have just missed you because there was nobody on the beach when I got there.

I also caught some new species. A queen fish and a bra strap. Also, had a nice "thump" on my line. Lifted my rod tip, felt some weight, give it a couple cranks, and fish off.

I've noticed 72nd is it hit and miss. The fish are on either on the chew or non-existant.

Yah it's very hit and miss. I was debating if I should fish there or head Manhattan beach but having not lived in that area since 2008 I'd forgotten the halibut spot hahaha

Those rivers really bring the trash.
Congrats on the WSB.
