With the current high surf conditions up and down the coast experienced during several recent recon sessions, SWAT was "swell shocked" and had to take a R&R trip.
This meant a trek to a less popular AO known as Eye Pollution. Bones, Wingnut, and Klocked made the trip and arrived for the grey light bite, and Dad and I arrived a few hours later.
Team Roster for today with a special guest appearance!
Bones:

Klocked:

Special guest Bill (Bam Bam) Pirate Crew.

Yours Truly:

The day ended up being pretty decent for at least one guy *cough* Wingnut *cough*, with enough excitement to keep everybody motivated.
Bones goes bendo early on with a nice drag Burner:

And it's a Butterfly Ray, aka a flatfish of the wrong kind!

Interesting catch, but not the target species. This area was thick with rays. I must have stepped on, kicked, and spooked well over a dozen including quite a few round stingrays. I even found one in ankle deep water that I intentionally spooked to get it out of the surf zone. We worked down the coastline pretty much the whole day. Very little structure meant that there was a lot of casting and walking to find productive waters.

The quality was hard to find today.

Only a few decent pancakes came out to play:
Bones' short:

Klocked skunkbuster:

Another micro halibut:

The last of Wingnut's Baker Dozen, we were talking about how it would be great if it would be a legal to finish it off. So close yet so far!

Then I go bendo!

New Species and a skunkbuster!

Fish were biting the Kroc with only 2 coming on LCs. Lethargic fish means fishing close to the bottom, but we did get some chases and a few aggressive surface strikes too. Klocked translated his into a nice shorty while Wingnut's fish didn't totally commit. Wingnut had a good, solid hit that got away, but that's his fish story. It was a slow steady pick at the micro pancakes, but there was enough action to keep you motivated to keep trying for that legal. I went big with the 1oz Kroc and the LC FM130 for nada. Fish were keyed in on the 5/8oz Kroc and the LC FM 110.
I had a great time out there even though I only stuck a Butterfly ray (new species, so a nice catch). The company when you fish with SWAT is unparalleled, and definitely makes up for a low personal fish count.

Totals:

BSP: 1 Butterfly Ray
Klocked: 1 Short Halibut
Wingnut: 13 Short halibut (Baker's Dozen!)
Time to call it a day for bones, myself, Dad, and Wingnut. John had to leave earlier:
