You will need a boat pass.

Two stroke motors are allowed from a returned email i asked a while back.

there are two public launch ramps. One on the east and one on the west. The two links will give you more info.

Great new if your planning on going to BBL for Memorial Weekend. Just call DOT just to make sure.

thanks. the fees went up $10. the fee is $25 for 1 day. highway robbery for sure. but if they dont charge to park or launch its not to bad. i come to big bear from apple valley, so dont need to worry about the front road.

They will do the inspections for mussel's but have a wash down station if you fail, the station is only at one Marina I think so if you fail at another Marina they will send you over there. At least that's how it was last year.

You coming up from apple valley will put you at the east launch ramp [ near stanfield cutoff rd. ] this is the marina with the quagga m. wash down . You can have your boat on the water at night WITH THE PROPER front and back lights on your boat . I used to keep my boat moored at Halloways marina years ago and all the boats used to head east for the 4th of july fireworks show , pretty cool but after the show you better have a powerful light to show your way because there are hundreds of boats doing the same thing . You can launch from the east end before dark but NOT AFTER DARK as they close the incoming gate and have a one way tire damage spike thing that only lets you get out . HAVE FUN , db

Also wanted to add that the launch is free but you'll buy a pass [ 25.00 sounds right .] And the east launch ramp is like 200 yrds. past stanfield cutoff rd. on the NORTH shore .
