It is with deep regret to inform those of you that know or have fished with Joe that he is currently in a hospice in Orange County. While Joe has put up an incredible fight this past year, the stark reality is that he has little time left with us here on earth.

It is his wife's wish to inform all of Joe's friends that now would be the time to visit him if you wish to see him before Joe moves on. Unfortunately, his time is short, but Joe would certainly appreciate your visit.

Please PM me if you need the address, etc. I will make an effort to once again log on to this site to retrieve messages.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joe, his wife, and their family. I'm sure this is a very stressful and hurtful time for everyone involved.

(For the benefit of those former FNN members that I do not have an email or cell number)

Please be advised, Joe is now in critical condition and the family is now limiting visitors. The family wishes to thank you guys on FNN for all the well wishes and prayers.

For those of you who are still members here, I will strive to keep you all updated via PM or text/cell.

A sad time for sure Rich. My prayers go out to him and his loved ones.
Times like these are a grim reminder of how short life can be. One must NEVER take
the life we have been given for granted.

Joe passed away last night, peacefully in his sleep. Thankfully, his suffering is over.

If you know Joe, right now he's either eating some crazy adventurous food or fishing the salt!

In keeping with Joe's wishes, he will be cremated and his ashes spread in to the ocean (Newport Harbor). The family has plans for this to take place on June 11th, and I will keep those interested in attending informed.

I'm gonna miss this crazy Japanese dude and our road trips fishing Mexico...he was a good egg and had an adventurous spirit. Tightlines Joe!
