Did pretty well up on the lagoon this morning. Got a few males in the 2-4 lb. class and this nice solid 7lb fish in 20+ feet of water on a Larry's Minnow. Not bad for the long rod...

Nice going on the Long Rod. Using a shooting head to get down to the fish? Did you try a Clouser? Looks like I'm headed out there with my yak this weekend with my long rods.
Thanks for the post.

Affirmative. 250 grain integrated shooting head line - Scientific Anglers Streamer Express.

Yes, I have fished Clousers at the Lagoon, and they can be effective. But I also find that an unweighted (neutral bouyancy) baitfish pattern on a fast-sinking line does better for me.

Thanks for the 411.
Will have to try neutral bouyancy thing, used to fishing weighted stuff to go with my RIO Big Boy 200/300 grain shooting heads.
