MDR Bass, Brownies and Barries...oh my!

Got an invite from my good fishing buddy Martin “the looper”, to do an afternoon fishing trip to get some Rockfish, Bass and Barracuda. Fortunately, we caught all the targeted species.

The trip started off with some bass fishing and we caught a couple Sand Bass and Calico Bass. Then we checked out a Rockfish spot and the big Brown Rockfish were on the chew along with some Vermilion Rockfish.

Those were definitely the biggest Browns I’ve ever caught in the Santa Monica Bay. After getting limits of Rockfish, we tried a small structure spot for Sand Bass but got zilch on the Bass; however, the Barries were in the area and we got into a very consistent Barracuda bite on the Basstrix swim baits and chrome Irons.
