POM and myself hit up the Sierra's May 5-8 for our 2011 opener. We like to stay off the beaten path for the most part but did partake in some action at PVR, Intake II, Crowley, Rush Creek, and the East Walker River. All and all we experienced good action (a little over 50 a piece) but were unable to hook into any bruisers. Water levels were on the high side making it difficult in some spots. We did find some wide open action at Intake II and even got caught in a snow storm up there on mother's day. Forever in search of the big brownie (no floaters please). Tight Lines and Full Tails to all!!! Here are a few pics.

Moving on...

Nice pics guys. That shot with the garden snake looking at the camera was pretty sick. You guys might want to take a look at Rock Creek if you like Rush. I was amazed at the amount of fish in Rock last time I fished it. Always assumed it was so-so. Never again!

Snake is not a garder snake. Has markings like a gopher snake, but the head and body look too thin. Mojave Patch-Nose

Pretty cool with the snake looking a the camera, lends a whole new dimension to the shot. BUT WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING PICKING UP A WILD REPTILE AND GETTING IT IN YOUR FACE???
Oy, snakes are best left alone.
