After seeing all the Barracuda reports come in over the weekend , i was ready to go !

I get home from work Sunday and start dusting off my gear , i spool up 3 reels with fresh line - 15 , 20 & 40lb.
Even dropped a little oil on the bearings. After reading the weather reports of 20-25 kt winds , i wussed out ... lol .

Its now 5:15 am Monday morning and I'm on the Frwy texting MTwiz - Hey are you at the fishing grounds yet ... ?

Mtwiz - No , still in bed !

Me - WHAT , you said 5:00 am , you mean i could have slept in ... lol

Once we meet-up we decide to take a ride to one of MTwiz's old stomping grounds. In
hopes of some Calico's !!

The hike - short but strenuous
The conditions - Dangerous
The view - excellent

Todays tackle - Daiwa rod , Abu reel & 12lb izor

The Seas were a bit rough today ... :EyePop:

MTwiz beating me to the spot again(mess'n with ya bro)... lol

Fishing was tough with the strong winds and large waves . Staying dry was not to be ,as the water splashed over the rocks and kept us on our toes !

And last but not least , the SKUNK beater ... :Big Grin:

Nice pics and congrats on the checker skunk buster.
I love spots like that but be VERY careful. Out on an exposed rock like that is very dangerous. A piggyback swell or forrunner swell can quickly sweep you off one of those rocks. I almost went into the drink in Laguna last year and I'm very experienced in those areas. Three fisherman died two years ago in Palos Verdes when a rogue swell came ashore.
Never under estimate poseidon!

Very cool session... beats the view in LB any day!
Mike (Bones) and I fished that spot a little while back and saw a bunch of Junior lifeguards in training. They were swimming in between and around those huge boilers and it wasn't a calm day. There are much larger Checkers lurking around there.

The fish do seem to draw us closer to the edge, but we were very cautious .
Thanks Bones !

Nice going . Bones hit the nail on the head to what I was thinking . Being out on those rocks can be very dangerous. I know of aq spot or two that look like that and going to throw some Lc's very soon. I don't think I will be out on the rocks thought . LOL Thanks for sharing your fishing session .

Great point Mike.
Also watch the Tide. A incoming High tide brings larger sets and that is often time when guys get caught off gaurd.

Check this Nut out !
