Another Perchin Report 5 6 2011 @ The Spot!

Hey guys,

Yeah..yeah…another perch report…..

BUT….I fished the LC today..and even tried the dropshot, for nothing…..

Arrived at the spot at 800 am. Due to people nagging me, I brought my LC Rod/Drop Shot rod to give it a shot. For the first 30 minutes, every cast was weeds. So I got very frustrated, and busted out the trusty 9’6” Stimula to throw for some BSP, until the weeds cleared up and I would give the LC another shot, and also try the D/S.

WEAPONS:
1. Shimano Stimula 9 6 2500 Sahara 6 lb test
2. Phenix MBX 7 6 2500 Stradic 6 lb test
RIGS:
1. Stimula ½ oz slider, bead, swivel, 18” Pline Fluorocarbon, #8 Circle Hook w/Crack, GULP! Sand Fleas.
2. Phenix LC and D/S Flukes and GULP! NC 5” Jerk Shads.

First couple casts, couple hits. Then I managed the first BSP of my day.

Made another cast, got rattled a few times, and landed #2.

Saw a clear area of water, grabbed the LC rod, and made some casts….for nothing….back to perchin….

That’s pretty much the story for the rest of the morning. I would try the LC for a few…too many weeds..then back to perchin. Even tried the D/S for weeds.

At 1100, I knew I had to leave, so I made another few casts. First cast, I hooked a NICE FISH!! GRRRR! It grabbed the crack, doubled my rod over, took some line, and spit the hook!! Damn it! Made a few more casts, and got a couple more fish, and had to head home.

**I got some waders last night, now all I need are some inexpensive wading shoes, and Ill be set, Im tired of being cold, wet, and sandy, lol. I also need to pick up possible a fishing “vest” type thing, so that I can just store my surf tackle in the pockets. I am SO tired of using a tackle box. Set down box, fish zone, walk back onto beach, grab tackle box, set down again, etc.**

TOTAL COUNT: 30 PERCH ( 1 NICER ONE)
2 TONS OF WEEDS

just a heads up....i wore dive booties the last two days that i wear float tubing and they filled with so much sand that the sipper won't work...i think water shoes would fill with sand and pull off your feet...i will try wading boots next time or i have waders with gravel guards that might work...i'll keep you posted, if you come up with something that works let me know...ive spent my childerns inheritance on booties for float tubing...just another thought i use waist wadders perfect for letting stored coffee mix in the surf..............

strange...someone just told me to get some of those deep sea dive boots at sports chalet..they didnt mention that problem...damn....

i have two pair from sport chalet, work great in float tube, murder in the surf....gravel guards will help...my son wears boot waders and has no problems..if i can't work something out with stocking foot waders, i will buy boot waders..............
